 my neighbours tree fell on my house, thank god theres no damage to the house .

its a tall but thin eucalyptus (sp) in next doors garden. thankfully it hit the rail that runs round our decking which is on a post that secures all the decking and is concreted into the ground. that took the brunt of the impact and then it fell on the roof (bungalow!). if it wasnt for the decking rail i wouldnt have a kitchen  and i didnt even want a rail round it dh talked me into it

thankfully no one was home to be scared silly either. i was at work and my mum (who would normally be there with alex on a tuesday) had gone out and stopped at her own house for lunch.

the decking needs some repairs and my dh's chimnea is smashed to pieces and the fence needs some panels replacing but it could have been much worse. dh has told our neighbour he owes us at least half the logs for the fire

Gosh! So lucky that no one was in and the damage was so comparatively minor! Glad for you

luckily i work with my neighbour - he got the call from someone down the road and came and told me straight away then went home to check it out and called me from there (only 5 mins away). then dh went home as he wasnt working far away either - so i havent seen it yet :?

Oh dear lord, thank God your Mum & Alex weren't home. What a pain
