Hey everyone.
I'll try to keep it relatively short...
I'm now 36+5. Been up the hospital today for reduced movement, and after an hour on the monitor, the consultant told me they want me to go back in tomorrow for monitoring again, then in on Saturday for an induction at 37w.
She's a small baby, and the concern is the placenta is starting to fail and she's not getting everything she needs any more, so they've decided she'll be better out than in.
I didn't want her coming before 38w at the earliest as I have concerns about her being here sooner, but, she apparently has other ideas and medically, if she needs to be here then fine. Whatever's best for her works for me.
So, the problem.
OH is in America.
We saved for six months and finally a couple weeks ago got his ticket booked.
For June 25th. (38+5).
She wasn't due until July 4th.
As soon as I told him they want to start her arrival on Sat, he phoned Virgin to see if he could move his flight forward, fully expecting to be told it would cost the difference in ticket price (paid $1260 for 25th, flight tomorrow would be $1830), and probably some sort of handling fee.
Nope.
They want to charge him the full ticket price for tomorrow.
And zero refund on the 25th ticket.
So, essentially, over $3000 (approx £2500).
I've written a comment on Virgins FB page... I would really appreciate anyone liking/commenting on it just to bump up the awareness.
If they refuse to help, he will not be able to be here for the birth of his daughter, and I'll have to go it alone.
Any help is most appreciated.
Many thanks xx
