I had a scan today and thankfully they could now see the baby and heartbeat, whooppeeee i am really pleased.
However, she asked me if i'd had any bleeding and whether i had any major complications in my previous pregnancies because she has detected a section near to the baby where blood has collected?????
I had low lying placentas both previous pregnancies but she said its not the same. She asked if i do any lifting (yes i have two toddlers at home) and then said i need to strictly rest, she has also given me some tablets to increase my hormone levels and told me to come back if i experience any bleeding at all.
I've never heard of this before and am now quite worried. Its actually impossible for me to stop lifting as, for example, my daughter still needs carrying up the stairs as she's too small to manage them by herself. Has anyone else had this and if so does it just go away in time?
After the shock of discovering this pregnancy i now just want everything to be alright

Hello overthemoon - sounds like you have had a tough day :( . But firstly, congratulations to hearbeat and seeing the baby! :D

Taking it easy can be really hard - especially if you are on your own? If you are not then rope it your other half to be doing the lifting etc. I suppose, if you need to rest for quite a bit you can even considering having a lot of the bits downstairs so you don't have to go up and downstairs throughout the day - carrying other child or not.

If you are still worried and need some advice, I think you should speak to the midwife again and perhaps indicate that you have not heard of this before and need some extra help?

I hope you are putting your feet up whilst you were typing this thread :) Sorry I couldn't be of more help x

Let us know how you get on

I didn't want to read and run, sorry i am not going to be much help, this is my first pregnancy and haven't a clue about anything really, i know many people who have had toddlers whilst been pregnant and there is no escape from carrying them, just try to do it as little as you can and rest at all other times, i hope everything will be ok   and congrats on seeing and hearing your baby, must be so exciting.
