9-12 month developmental review

When Lacey had her's at 9 months, they weighed her, did development checks like speech, movement etc. They ask how your feeling in yourself and give you some books to read to your LO x x

well everything went ok, he got weighed... 19lbs 15oz, measured too, cant remember how long he is but she seemed to think he was very long! lol. hes already filling 9-12month clothes! she did a thing where he had to pick up scrunched up tiny bits of paper using pincer grip which he hasnt quite grasped but she said it will come with time! he picks up everything else! i also got some books for him! he has to have his tb jab which he hasnt had yet! we had a talk about his speach skills and she said he may take a little longer with being bilingual but in the long run it will be invaluable.. we discussed feeding, safety in the home and sleeping habits.... i think that was it! she was really happy with him! =)

Hope you enjoy it! We had an 8 month one is theis the same thing but done a bit differently in our area? Didn;t think we had to see hv now until a year? (which sound slike it should be ages away but ifact only 2 months!!!)
Also what age to they need the tb jab?

Bilingual children do seem to have fewer words in their languages but you'll find that he knows all words he should but its split over 2 languages and also don't worry if he grows up and appears to get 'tip-of-the-tongue' syndrome. Its just cos he has access to two language systems and he has to select the right one but he will know it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well done then marley!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What languages is he learning???? XxX

i speak to him in english, and oh in italian and also napolitan (the dialect from naples where he is from!) so it gets a bit confusing! me and oh speak only italian to each other at home also! he is definately alot more responsive to italian and gets so excited when oh speaks to him! i think he just likes to ignore me!!!! lol.

oh as for the tb jab i had no idea about it but the hv said they highly reccomend it especially in the borough of london where we live, so i'll have that in a few weeks poor baba! no idea what age they usual have it tho she was shocked that he hadnt had it already! eeek.

i had NOO idea about it until my hv told me he should have had an "8month review", anyway they just did it as "9-12month" instead!!!!

We only got the letter to book last week and zac is nearly 1 so I think they must do it at different times depending where you live x

Be glad you get one. I phoned my HV to ask when C would have his, our area doesnt even do them anymore! x

Paige had hers yesterday and he just asked some questions about things shes doing and how she is. I see him quite regularly though so he can see she's hitting all the milestones and getting on well.

I kind of thought it was a bit pointless actually :/
