Where has the time gone?
I remember sitting there watching the TV with Mason aged 2 months on my lap.
My friend is a dental nurse in NY, she worked for months identifying the victims.

I remember watching it happen on Sky News :( it is definitely one of those days that sticks in your mind where you were and what you were doing at the time.

My Mum and Dad went to NY in the December after it happened and i can remember being worried about them flying there and not really wanting them to go.

:(
I remember that day - I got home from school and turned on the TV. I was just randomly turning it on and I called to my mum because it said 'breaking news' and we sat there for about 2 hours open-mouthed in horror.

My aunt was due to be at the towers that day but they had cancelled their trip as she was unwell!

Can't believe it happened in 2001 and its now 2008  It would still break your heart.. :(

I was working as an Insurance Sales advisor at Hastings Direct. I was doing overtime on an 8am-8pm shift and was just getting the info passed on from customers on the phone. The call centre was very quiet that night (as I guess most people were more concerned with the news). I rushed home after to switch on the news and see for myself what people were describing to me all day on the phone.

I was working on the phones that day to, ever so quiet, we kept taking breaks to watch the telly in the canteen.

I had a first date with a guy that night, glad that it never worked out with him as what awful date to remember as your anniversary.

I remember I was going into the bank when the first plane hit thinking "oh my god what a terrible accident" then by the time I was out the bank the second plane had hit and thats when I thought "OMG"...

Brian was over in the states in Houston at that time and I was crapping myself with worry for him and he was hundreds of miles from NYC.

RIP all those poor people that lost their lifes that day.

I was working as a support worker for Mencap at the time. I sat with my client for three hours watching it happening on TV then ran home to put CNN on whiel frantically trying to get hold of some friends in NYC.
Loads of our friends came to our house and we sat all night flicking between news channels to see if there was any fresh news.

it was horrific, I remeber being at home and my brother doing the local bus run, stopping the bus near our house and leggin it in to put it on our TV as he had heard about it from various passengers

those effected in or by the tragedy are in my thoughts and pairs today

xx

I was on the bus home from school when it came on the news

Then watched it for hours on the news after school

I was on hloiday in Portugal. It was so scary coming home and seeing armed guards all around the airport.

I was getting ready for work when the news flash came on, got to work and at the time I was head receptionist at a hotel and we had Americans staying with us.... we put the telly on and all the guests sat watching with all the staff as it was happening it was horrible, I have family over there and my some of my in laws lost friends and family whom I knew so it was horrible... i cant believe where the time has gone its so sad :(

I can remember coming home from school, my mate had been locked out of her house (her mum had gone out) and so she came to mine, my mum had the TV on and me and my mate were stuck to the news, i couldn't believe what had happened!!!!

I was working as a temp at an American firm that day, we just sat at our desks hitting refresh on the sky news website, it was awful.

We managed to eventually speak to the New York office and they could see the trade centre from their building.

Those who lost their lives are in my thoughts today.

Did anyone see 9/11 hotel on c4 last night? one of the guys in the Marriott hotel at the bottom of the trade centre really helped a badly burnt woman escape (sadly she died) only to discover his sister and niece were on the second plane. So so sad.

I was working for play.com in Cambridge at the time and someone got the news on a news ticker and word spread around the office. Everyone ended up watching it online stood around one computer, it was very surreal. After work I went to the pub (my days of freedom before James!) and everyone in the pub was watching sky news in silence.
OH was in London that day on a training course and I was worried about him as I thought they might target the tube on the same day.
It's hard to believe it ever happened, I still find it shocking that anyone would do that to innocent people on such a huge scale

Cameron was at nursery and we came home to watch Bob the Builder as normal and thats what was on tv.
I sat watching it open mouthed all night, semed unreal at the time

It was the day I had an appointment at Hammersmith Hospital to collect my sisters remains and take them to the funeral director. I remember standing on the tube wishing the day would end... and I wasn't having to do that. I went to the hospital came out with my little box just as the second plane must have hit the towers... I walked passed a TV shop and there were loads of people crowding round it... I thought it must have been football (btw I know NOTHING about football)... When I got home my ex didn't ask me anything just said "OMG have you seen the news!!" all his friends were round watching it... I said no, cursing him for not even giving me a cuddle..took Tia into her room to play with her... I think I must be one of the few people in the world who wasn't glued to a TV screen that day  Needless to say I get reminded each year of a terrible day in my life, but I am humbled by how much worse it could have been and it helped me pùt things in perspective.

For me it does feel a long time. A lot has changed in my life in that time and what was happening back then seems so far away.

I was driving back home from De Montfort Uni in Bedford where I was doing my teacher training and heard it on the radio.

I also remember the Chris Moyles show in the afternoon was usually all loud and hilarious and that day it was just music and news updates.

Does anyone else remember getting up every day for the next week and putting the news on right away in case anything had happened or they had found anyone alive? :(

I was off work that week and I remember me and OH just sat in everyday glued to the various news channels.
