8 month old should he be on progress milk?

luke is now 8 months and i still have him on sma gold, when i last saw the HV (admittedly it was 2 months ago) she said to keep him on sma gold if he was happy but i just feel because he is only having 3 bottles a day now should he be on the progress milk? it contains more iron etc doesn't it. any advice would be greatly appreciated he has a good diet also. he is only about 17lb ish (i'm guessing!) he is still in 3-6 month clothes so he is small. (on the 25th centile)

im sure it says on the sma gold tin birth - 12 months. whats the difference between that and the progress milk anyway?

its totally up to you its just the progress has more iron in i think

i don't know what to do. the iron content is the major difference i think, but then i don't want him getting constipated from too much iron too.

HV told me not to bother with it at all. She said there not really much difference in them and then on into a big rant about how all the adverts are going to be banned for follow on ect Anyway, the main point is, if hes happy on the milk hes on now, keep him on it!

I have kept Jake on SMA Gold. The only reason that follow on milk was invented was so that the brand could be advertised. They are not allowed to advertise first milk but they are aloud to advertise follow on. Read the links.

thanks for all the replies very interesting articles i am going to continue on sma gold definitely as he is happy.

its all the pressures you get from other mums when you go to baby groups sometimes when you see they are on progress milk and you think ... should my baby be on that now!
