Hi ladies,

My LO is now 5 wks old and i started off breastfeeding him but he didnt take to well to it so i gave up after a wk or so  since then he's been on SMA gold. He takes 6oz.

We felt he was constipated quite a bit with Sma gold so on friday there we changed his milk to Aptamil.

Since changing milk he seems to be bringing up more than he did with the Sma. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this with Aptamil or could it be that he's still getting use to the change.

Also his jobbys seem to be very very runny since changing onto Aptamil is this normal or should i be worried.

Im seriously thinking on swapping him back to Sma but not sure whether to or not.

Please Help!

Thanks in advance

Kazz xx

Hi Kazz.
Tom started off on Cow & Gate but then we swapped to Aptimil. He's now on the stage 2 (hungry baby) Aptimil but was on stage 1 for about 4 months.
His poo was always REALLY runny BUT he has had problems with colic and reflux so has been on medicine for those and I'd always assumed that it was the medicine that was making the poo so runny.
Lots of people on here seem to have had problems with SMA Gold so maybe have a chat with your Health Visitor and see what she says.

Ive been told by many of my friends/relatives to stay well away from sma and cow and gate as they have all experianced one problem or another with one of them .

I sadly cant breastfeed so me and DH have decided to try Aptimil on are lil princess first to see how she goes on that .

We hope she takes well to it has its had brill reviews from alot of people and in are local morrisons it says that its been approved by many mums and won awards.

I tried aptimal and kept making him sick so went back to cow and gate - never had any problems with it really

every baby is diffent i used SMA gold on both of mine and never ever had any probs with them

ditto, but we switched from aptimal to sma before trying cow and gate. sma made her really consitpated, but cow and gate seems to agree with her.

but then i know mums how have had to swap from c&g to sma because it didn't agree. all babies are different.

Hi ladies,

Thanks for all ur replies, since i posted this thread i have moved Iain onto Cow & Gate Comfort and thankfully he's much better.

He's not at all constipated anymore :cheer: and he's only a tiny bit sick but am putting it down to him gulping down his milk  he's so greedy lol

Anyway thanks again
