Follow on milk

Hi I am a bit confused about if I need to start giving Jake this once he is 6 months old. I am giving Jake SMA Gold at the moment and I have looked up follow on milk on the internet and it basically says you can give them follow on milk or carry on with SMA Gold. I started weaning Jake recently and at the moment he is having about 2 large ice cubes of food a day plus about 4-5 8oz bottles although he doesn't always finish his bottles.

You can just leave them on the first milk if you want. I discussed it with the HV and she to leave her on the first milk if she is happy on it. She stayed on cow and gate premium till she was 11 months old.
