5 hurt in fairground accident

I love fairground rides, but sometimes I worry if it's going to go wrong. Those poor people.

i dont trust those rides to be honest. Im fine with the big theme parks like thorpe park of chessington because i know that theyre checked every single day, but the little travelling fair ones.....they just look really rickety.

I went on a waltzer at one of those trvelling fairs a few years ago and the bit behind your head thats supposed to be padded, wasnt. I sent the entire ride smacking my head onto the metal because the operator thought it was funny to keep spinning it round. I weas in bed all day with a headache and being sick :( Never again. :shakehead:

have to chip in and say when i was in torquay a few weeks ago with emily i saw the rowlands and whatever name is with them and i saw those rides getting checked before they opened.

Im not saying the majority arnt safe, just that the ones we've had round here arnt the best and ive not personally witnessed them getting checked. Always makes me dubious. Im sure most of them are fine. It is someones livelyhood after all. Its just a personal choice. I would rather go to one of the big theme parks.
