I read somewhere that your third pregnancy is likely to be the most spontaneous & different pregnancy. How true can this be?

What is the likelyhood (sp) of having a super fast birth like last time? My second labour was pain free with no drugs, went to hospital at midnight & was back home in my bed 3.5 hours later with a baby!

I Know it will be down to my body and mother nature, but how lovely would it be if the 'old wives tale' was true & labour was faster! Actually, the hospital here in Germany is 15 minutes away...I don't want to be sat in the back seat with a leg over each head rest with half a baby popping out :rotfl:

Is labour faster each time around? Do babies tend to come earlier? Would love to hear your experiences! :)

xx

Hey,

This is baby number one for me so can't really help from personal experience, but my sister in law has just had her 3rd baby this evening and she was only in labour for 2 hours from start to finish! If that's not quick I don't know what is! Her other two labours were 8 and 10 hours so this one was a lot shorter!

xx

Well my first labour was induced, so I expected a longer, more painful labour. My waters broke around 11.30pm & he was born 9.15 am the next morning. He was back to back & I pushed for 3 hours of that time as I refused to have him suctioned out & only survived this on G&A!

Second labour as described above, completely natural & a heavier baby & 3 days overdue!

So I am hoping Mini Master G comes earlier, heavier & faster!

1st 36 hours
2nd 4 hours gas and air
3rd hour of pain and home born 3 mins after getting to the hospital pulled my legging down one push and he was out.
4th I think I will be camping out at the hospital lol

Haha fingers crossed for your early, heavy and quick baby!

Wish I had some kind of idea how much my LO weighs! I think he's going to be heavy, but tall and skinny! xx

My first cause I was induced ages and very pain full my 2nd needle in back and took three pushes to get him out 3rd I hope that I can have a natural birth and it be quick lol I spoke to lady who had her 3rd in two hours hmmmm yes plz lol

i was induced with my 1st term +1, very painfull ended in 12 hours of labour and an epidural. 2nd baby, term +5 was a breeze, just made it to the hospital, was in labour for an hour and a half, i had a sweep 24 hours previously.
3rd not holding out much probably go over as girls like veing fashionably late x x x

im on baby number 3 and hoping for a quickie as dd was born an hour after i got to hospital after short labour,

BUT ive had a 15 year gap between 2nd and 3rd and my MW told me it will be like having a first baby again long and slow, im just hoping my body has other ideas.

would love to hear from anyone who has had big age gap and what labour was like x

PRAYING this one is soo much quicker and SOOOO much LESS PAIN!! lol!!
Watched my sister give birth on Thursday.. kinda made the memories come flooding back!!!

my 1st was 3 and a half hrs with pethidine; my 2nd i was induced and was 4 hrs, i had pethidine and gas and air. And my 3rd was 4 and a half hrs with gas and air and pethidine. I'm getting induced with my 4th x

Lanny how big were your babies??

1st 8lb 13
2nd 7lb 14
3rd 8lb 9oz

I had the worse drive to the hospital in my life it was only 10 mins away but felt like hours as I wanted to push.
I was in the assessment unit and they just shout fully dilated and the room filled with people, one push and he was out didn't feel a thing of that.
I loved how fast it was but the feeling of shock was very strange, I was sat with a new born baby in my arms all my clothes on leggings around my ankles and sandals, I couldn't believe what had just happen poor o/h worked in from work at 2:30pm and his baby was born at 3pm he was black from work with rigging boots the lot on lol.

Blimey!!! They are very good weights!!
I'd love a labour like that tbh I think everyone would! But I can imagine how surreal it all was!!

I've heard from friends the third labour is the hardest and most painful

My first one was 12 hours

2nd was 10 hours and 3rd was 4 hours and 20 minutes, just wondering what my 4th and last will be like

Ahhhhh love all these stories! Here's me feeling a little more optimistic now! 1'st was 7lb 6oz & 2'nd was 7lb 14oz! So I would like another 2 hour pain free labour & not too much heavier & before my due date  not asking for much eh?
