35 Week Consultant Appointment

So, as the title says we had our latest consultant appointment at 35+1 weeks yesterday.

We had a long wait, which isn't anything unusual! Anyway, before I saw the consultant one of the MWs took my BP and checked my urine sample.
BP was fine at 100/74 and urine sample normal, apart from traces of protein.

Because I've been on Iron tablets (Ferrous fumerate 320mg) for I think over 6 weeks, I had to have my bloods taken again to see how my Hb levels are and will get the results in a couple of weeks. I was bricking myself!! Shaking so much I'm suprised she managed to get a sample, laid there biting my thumb and let out a little wimper when the needle went in! I hate needles!!! Anyway, will get the results in a couple of weeks or so. The consultant said she wasn't happy with me being on just one dose a day, so wrote me a new prescription for Ferrous Sulphate 200mg twice daily. Just hoping that because they are different tablets they don't make me feel ill!!

We had a listen in to our baby with the doppler and the consultant was very happy with her! She didn't tell me what her heart rate was but said that her heart beat is regular and strong so very good! She measured my bump and baby is still perfect size and is still Cephalic and is now 4/5ths engaged! Which according to my notes means she is sitting on the pelvic brim! Maybe explains why I'm feeling alot more pressure this week?

Sooo, all in all very good! We have to go back again in 2 weeks, on the 7th August. I can't believe it will be August in 2 weeks!! I may only have 2 more consultant appointments left if LO arrives on her due date!

All becoming so real and quite scary!!! MW next week so we will see if she is still being a good, happy and healthy baby! xxx

Must be so exciting counting down the appointments and barely having any left. You'll have LO in no time at all from here if they behave Really hope the change in tablets doesn't mess with you too much and you get on ok with them xx

It is but nerve racking too!! Hoping so! My friends and some family think I will have LO early but we will see! Thankyou! xxx

Glad all went well Hun we see consultant on the 9/8 for scan n chat so I'm looking forward to seeing baby again altho by then I don't think u see a huge amount lol!!!

Ooh exciting! Hmm dunno, maybe clearer though as baby will be much bigger? X
