28 Week Midwife Apt -OMG

Just had 28 week midwife Apt - And now a little scared not for babys health but for babys arrival



Baby is measuring 31 week - 3 week ahead of time and is already head down - been getting braxton hicks and midwife says if turn into something a remotely think is labour to go to a maternity unit asap never thought id be thinking of baby arriving this early on got to go back in two weeks for her to check measurments again - on and said the usual count babys movements

You could still go on for weeks and if baby arrives a little early I know thats not what you'd want but if he/she does being a good weight is a positive?

Hi Hun, don't worry! Look at my other thread about fundal height measurements, I'm now measuring 50 weeks! I have growth scans too, she's measuring off the scale. She flipped from breech to head down fair few weeks ago and is more than happy to remain where she is. Some babies are head down from v early on, doesn't mean they'll come early! Midwives just have duty of care to provide you with all the facts, to cover their backs too and inform you of all possibilities. My midwife also told me not to attempt to drive and to call an ambulance at the first signs or waters going, not to scare me but like she said she wouldn't want angry ladies cross at her for not covering all eventualities. X

I think what you measure and getting bh is pretty normal for this stage. I can't believe the mw made anything of it tbh.

i don't think they realise the way they phrase things can worry mums to be.

I had bh every day with all my babies from about 14 weeks no joke! the first 2 were 42 weekers aswel!!

Don't worry about it, you'll be ok. Just do as she says I guess! If baby looks like it's going to make an appearance, ring labour ward. Im measuring small, baby is head down, and I'm 34 weeks! Random things but I could still easily go overdue! X

Try not too worry Hun. My LO's head is down n Braxton hicks are my bestfriend.
You could go on for a good few weeks. Don't let ur midwife scaremonger you sweety. Just relax n take each day as it comes
