Well at the meet today LauraB asked me about muslin squares, as she had heard a lot about them but didn't use them......I have many uses for them, and so we thought maybe between all us mummies on here we could find a whole variety of uses & reasons to have them at hand......our list target is 25 :D

I'll start, but please add your own uses to this thread (must be different to those already listed) with the consecutive number, till we get to 25 :D

1. Wiping up dribble
2. Wiping up sick
3. As a thin covering in the pushchair to keep the sun off little legs
4. To lie on on the changing mat
5. As a comfort blankie

who's next?

Just remembered another one:

6. We used one as a nappy when Libby was 3 days old as we weren't sure if she was weeing (ended up being sent to hospital :| )

7. a teething rag (Evie will chew on anything to hand  )
8. Playing peek-a-boo

:D

We often use them instead of bibs, toga style over one of Isaac's shoulder

They also come in useful as a 'cover' of sorts to stop little boys aiming wee upwards

Also to use to shade sun of LO's head too, whilst moving from car to wherever it is you're visitng (if you don't have a sun hat)

Love muslins :cheer:

I'll add them in as numbers hun, so we can keep a tab on our target :D

9. Use as a bib
10. Over the shoulder burp cloth
11. To re-aim baby boys wee's
12. Sun shade on babies head

Woohoo...pretty much halfway to our target....keep them coming :D

13. A makeshift sling.
14. Sheets on cot
15. Rug for impromptu picnics in park

We use the MASSIVE muslins from Bigmuzz.com-they are the bizz and they are the best thing we bought as new parents

(13 was at the zoo when Ruby wouldnt go in her pramWe have the massive muslin squares from Bigmuzz.com
14. Sheets on cot-we swaddle her under arms in one, then tuck her in with another, they are so light)

16) A sunshade for the car window (if you wind down the window and kind of hook it over, it covers the whole window, not just half!)

I do really have so many of them, they are ace. I'm going to get some massive ones now you've mentioned yours Zoe :D

EDIT. Moved to (19.)

17) wiping up milk and excess food
18) if you have wipes that are quite wet, drying off the bottom before putting on a nappy

19. I used one the other day as a tie around bag for her teething toys, just got them out steriliser and was going to my mom's, didn't wanna throw them in the bottom of the bag, so wrapped them in the muslin to keep them cleaner :D

Good one for 18 M, I do that too....always the really wet wipes at the bottom of the packet

Rubys mummy I remember you saying how great the big muslins were ages ago, I was still pregnant at the time, and it was then I looked them up and bought some, as I didn't know what they were before your post, so thanks again for that
