20 week scan quick question

Hi Ladies,

So I have my 20 week scan on Friday and I can't find anything on the papers to say if I should have a full bladder or not. I think yes? It's weeks since I last saw the midwife so I can't remember. Thanks

You shouldn't need a full bladder at 20 weeks. I didn't have a full bladder at my last scan when I was 13 weeks! Baby should be clearly visible abdominal from this amount of time. You can always go to the scan with one as a precaution and if it's not needed then you can just empty, but I really don't think you need one at this stage.

I had my scan yesterday. The letter only said to drink one glass of water. But i dont think its needed to be honest.

Mine advise to have a pint of water. I'll always do this as it's easier to empty it than fill it up! You likely won't need it very full though as the others have said x

I had an empty bladder for my 12 week scan and it wasn't a problem. I'm sure at 20 weeks it wouldn't be necessary X

No need for a full bladder at the 20 week scan. My letter also says to drink before hand, but I won't be! So don't worry xx

I didn't even have a full bladder with dating scan (In fact I have had a 7 week private scan - abdominal - and not had a full bladder!)
