Just interested to see what milk you give your toddler :)

I learnt today that the government recommend semi skimmed for 2+ yrs, provided they are good eaters and growing well

 I really thought it was 5+ yrs!

AJ has full fat :) I will continue to do so as he is not a good eater and feel he's getting more from it.

I never knew that fact, I'm still giving my LO full fat milk too :S
Hmm, prehaps I should change it? Knowing my luck though he won't like it haha.

I give Amy( I know she's only 14 months and not quite 2) full fat milk but if I run out I always have cartons of uht milk but when I buy it it's either semi skimmed or skimmedwhich hasn't seemed to both her and rarely run out of fresh but if I do I have a few cartons of uht the shop only has them 2 in uht as that's all but do put drops of vitamins I think there ibedect dunno if thats how u spell it lol I put that in the skimmed uht and I give her an extra meal too Atm she only wants breakfast and dinner she won't eat tea she's only just started this but I'm not worried as she's still eating and suppose shell only eat what she can I do give her quite a bit at dinner thou not so she's over eating just to fill her up if u know what I mean

I think I'll try my LO on the semi-skimmed then as he is quite a good eater and his nearly 2 and a half. My only worry though is that he might find it different from the usual because semi-skimmed is a bit more watery isn't it. My LO can be a right fussy so and so sometimes lol.
Fingers crossed though he won't notice.

Thanks for the info :)

The fact that the government changes these recommendations all the time is a good enough reason to always just do what you think is right for your child. These strict "guidelines" annoy me.

I put Lacey on semi skimmed at 2. I always thought you could change at 2 and it's easier for us because we all drink semi skinned.

I still give my 5 year old full fat, he isn't huge so I thought it better :)

We only have 2 types of milk in the house, skimmed and whole and no-one in the house likes skimmed apart from me :D

We only drink whole milk so that's what DD and Seb when he's old enough will drink.

yeah i only have whole unless i run out which is normally the case as amy likes her milk to much she doesnt like it warmed any more and prefers it straight from the fridge but im worried it might do her harm being cold but i suppose in this weather itll keep her cool i need a cow out the bak lol
