Hi, had an apointment yesterday and was told the baby was 2/5 engaged.

I know its going to be different for different people but - how long did it take to go into labour after reaching that point?

Mine is 3/5 and has been for the past 3 weeks... my midwife told me it'll stay 3/5 until my labour starts.

I'd be guessing your labour can't be far off if you're 2/5 already :) but yeah, everyone's different.

i hope its soon! my OH is in the raf and has been posted to scotland as of next monday. The plan is to stay near freinds and family in manchester for a month after the baby is born (he's getting a month off work) and then all move up together. But if little one isnt born before monday he's going to have to go up there without me and face an 8-10 hour drive back when i o into labour. We need the baby t come this week so that his paternity leave kicks in!

Sounds a bit desperate maybe, but if there's any chance you can get another midwife appointment in, you could ask for a sweep? I know they're not sposed to do it before you're due... so I probly shouldn't be recommending that you ask for one... but if you explained the situation they may try and hurry your baby up a bit for you.

But then they may just say no :) It's uncomfortable anyway, and I am a believer that baby comes when it wants to, just thought I'd say cos in your situation I'd probly be like, well, no harm in asking!

No, we made a joking comment yesterday about having the baby before my OH goes on monday and were told by the doctor "not a chance" :?

I'll just have to hope she decides to make an apearance on her own.

Unlucky..

Hope it does decide to come for you :) get rood and eat curry :) (believe me, pineapple doesn't work :()

Go for lots of long energetic walks too. Also drink lots of rasberry leaf tea as well. You may as well eat pineapple as well. TBH I don't think any of it worked with us (Ellie was officially 5 days late, but really 1 week late) , but at least it makes you feel like you are doing something.

Hi Bex101

Sorry to say this, but i was 2/5ths at 34weeks and didn't deliver until 41 weeks. Those were the longest seven weeks of my life!!!

good luck though
