1st Appointment with midwife?

Hi ladies, after self referring myself I haven't heard from anyone yet for my first appointment with a midwife or scan. When do first apponintments come through? I remember it being quicker than this years ago...?

They usually see you when your around 8-9 weeks

I saw my gp at 8 weeks and had my first midwife appointment at 10 weeks then my scan was at 12 weeks

After self referral I got a phone call the next day and a midwife appointment scheduled for the following week. I was around 6 weeks when I saw mine x

I rang my gp practice when I tested positive and they said you have to be 8 weeks for your booking in appt with midwife so that's when I'm going. It's coming round fast for me but that's cuz I'm running round after my toddler all the time! First time I was pregnant I felt like I'd been left alone for weeks before i had any attention

Mine this time was at 7 weeks so not everywhere is actually 8 weeks. With my daughter 10. Rang up both times and they gave it to me. Did you get appointment yet? X

I saw my GP at 4 weeks, same day I got as I was on meds and it was a shock/surprise. I saw MW at 8+3 and waiting for my scan date to come through. MW told me it would be between 11 and 14 weeks xx

Oh really, I'm 7 weeks now and I still haven't got any blood forms or appointments yet. It seems really slow with the hospital I've gone with. I've left a message on an answer machine but haven't heard back yet...maybe I am early x

Oh really, I'm 7 weeks now and I still haven't got any blood forms or appointments yet. It seems really slow with the hospital I've gone with. I've left a message on an answer machine but haven't heard back yet...maybe I am early x

I don't know it's so different in all areas isn't it? I called up at 6 weeks just to see when to phone, as im at a different surgery than I was with my daughter. And they just put me through and gave me an appointment there and then. With dd I phoned at 6 weeks and my appointment was for 10weeks, given there and then. I've never had any blood form to fill, they just did my bloods at the appointment.

Maybe give them a ring and try to catch someone. It's a nightmare getting somebody if you leave a message xx

Thanks for the idea. Funnily enough just after I posted someone from the hospital called back to reply to my voice mail. It turns out I hadn't been booked in properly after all so she's done it today for me. I still have to wait to get an appointment though and wait to hear from my midwife. Hopefully they'll get in touch this time x
