I have finally got to the big 12 week marker and so far I have refrained from buying anything baby orientated because people keep telling me its bad luck!! Is it still considered bad after the so called "danger zone" because I really want to start collecting!!!! I can't help it, I'm a shopoholic!!!!

I don't hold with the 'bad luck' theory, if something is going to happen, it will happen whether you are surrounded by baby things or not. I think it has come about as a easier way of saying 'if something goes wrong, you'll have all those cute babygros to remind you of what could have been'.

As you say, you are out of the danger zone now, so I would say go ahead if thats what you want to do. Buying things won't bring you bad luck ;)

Well I am going to buy something this weekend as I have been busting at the seams to get going with baby shopping :rotfl:

Go for it!!

Oohh how exciting, I feel a trip to mothercare coming on  ,
just need to win the lottery now for all the cute stuff I want.
At what point are you going to wait to start decorating your nursery? I am so excited, I want to do it now! The furniture ranges at Mama's and Papa's are so adorable, I can see we are going to be skint before the LO arrives

We actually need to build the nursery!! We have 1 bedroom at the moment but are about to start building work so LO is costing us a fortune already!

I'm not sure when we'll start on the nursery, Paul asked me if I could start clearing the room 'soon' last night, but wouldn't qualify what 'soon' ment! The roon we are going to use currently houses my display of nearly 600 My Little Pony toys, all on shelves along one wall. I have some other collectors coming to visit in a few weeks time, so I want it all out for then, but he wants it moved before that I think (The ponies are moving into one half of the room he uses as his studio - he is an artist). So our nursery plans are up in the air at the moment.

Sorry, that really wasn't any help was it!!lol!!

 You are brave, sounds a bit exhausting!!! We have got the plasterer coming on Monday, and even thats worrying the hell out of me. Especially as I have a habit of wanting to strip off as soon as I get home of an evening :| .

If you have a little girl, you could just squeeze her in around the my little ponies!! If it's a boy I wouldn't recommend it though, he may grow up a little disturbed!!!

Brave/stupid

ive just worked out LO means little one right :D

if u gonna buy clothes buy yellow or white unless u know gender or baby. Ive been told girls can wear blue but boys cant wear pink lol but i thought if u put blue on a girl people will get confuse what gender she is

Also dont buy newborn neither as newborns grow out of it very quickly ive been told to buy for 3-6months. I might buy one item for newborn or maybe 2 so that eh baby has something to wear but then i dunno how big or small the baby will be but im banking on mine to be around 7-8llb. My fiance was 7.11 and i was almost 8llb

your right not to buy too much newborn gear, especially as most people who buy clothes as presents wont be able to resist buying the smallest size!
but If i were you i would be buying 0-3 months before you go steaming ahead to 3-6!

With chloe i only bought 0-3, to find out they were huge on her (she was 7lb 15oz), so she was in newborn size for about 2-4 weeks before she went into 0-3 :)
