12 Week Scan Hospital Awful

Afternoon ladies,

Went to St. Hilier hospital in Sutton Surrey for my 12 week scan today and they were awful . I went into the scan room and she asked me if id had my booking in appt and i said this was the only appt i had been given? She reluctantly took a few minor details and did the scan then ran round the hospital trying to find someone to do a blood test on me. No one was there as it was 4pm and they had all gone home so have to go back tomorrow! The lady was so rude and didnt tell us what was showing on the screen we had to keep asking and now im not going to know much until i go back tomorrow for the blood tests as she would give me the report. She said my baby is about 8cm after i chased her down and asked her and my DD has changed but i wont know anything else tomorrow! It was so unorganised like it was my fault they hadnt sorted my appts out? Anyway i saw the baby and heard the HB im assuming everything is okay as she didnt say otherwise but will know everything tomorrow hopefully! Happy to see the bubba though was so nice OH was proper excited. Sorry for the long post having a little vent lol! Will post picture when i work out how too! xx

Sorry you had such a rubbish experience at what should have been a really special, memorable day. Even if the woman you saw was peed off because of the lack of organisation in your referral, there was no need for her to be moody!

Aww laura sorry your day didn't go to plan and you had a grumpy nurse

I would defo complain too. It's not your fault of the situation you were put into and the sonographer should've been a lot more understandinig and professional!!

And like has been said you might get another scan to go through things better and give you a better experience xx

I would complain as well hon that is no way to treat you it's stressful enough!

Im sorry you found it a bad experience, but just as much as it wasnt your fault it wasnt hers. And the fact she ran around to try and organise a blood test is going out of her way, shes a sonographer not a mw. Id be more annoyed at the mw to be honest. I've worked in a hospital and its so stressful when things aren't done properly and you have to get everything else sorted before you can do the job your meant to be doing.
