12 days overdue - is this normal?!

I know its not like, unheard of, but being 12 days overdue - is it very rare?

Has anyone else been very overdue like this?

I don't think its as rare as you'd think. I know someone who was so dead against induction that she persuaded the docs to let her go 3 weeks over!

I think as long as you're being checked out every couple of days for you BP/baby heart rate etc. its fine and normal!

Oh I was 11 days over before they induced me and that was only because I asked them if they could do it sooner - they wanted me to go to 12/13 over ideally.

In France they give your due date as 42 weeks - presumably to save the long drag of madness that each day over seems! I've only started paying attention to how over due people are since having a baby. I was 9 days over, 2 of my friends were 10 days over and another was either 12 or 14, I can't remember OH's friend in Brazil's wife went 4 weeks over!

I have my app to be induced at 41 weeks so I know I probably wont go that far! But I have heard of some women going over 3 weeks etc!

I was induced at 14 days overdue
Alex was born at 15 days overdue

Don't worry it's not as rare as you might think
