Off to the Children's Centre later for Bertie's 10 day check. Not too sure what to expect or who will be doing the check....I really should learn to ask more questions lol. Also got the first HV next week and she's doing Bertie's hearing test. I know there's nothing wrong with his hearing, he can hear the lid coming off his bottle from a hundred paces lmao

Is it just a growth check at 10 days? Want them to have a look at his cord as it's on it's way to being found floating around somewhere on it's own, there was a small spot of blood on his nappy band yesterday but it all looks clean and neat xxxxxxxxx

Does he still have his cord? Tilly's dropped off after 5 days.

They'll probably weigh him and check him over. I'm still under mw care so not sure how different it is for hv.

I want to get out of the house today but it's pissing down again :( boo

midwife just came out to the house at 10days for us, weight and usual checks, we got hearing test done before leaving hosp. Harrys cord fell off when midwife put him on scales at day 10 :) xx

Yeah we'll be walking down there and got a raincover for the pram but my waterproof coat still doesn't fit . Someone should invent an umbrella for mummy that clips on the pram. I only had 2 visits from the mw, she discharged me cos she said we had everything in control......can you tell she didn't visit at 2am lol

He still has his cord, I think he's tight like his grandad and won't give it up lol

its lovely n sunny here lol. Alyssas cord fell off at 4 days but went gross n sticky had a swab taken and when i finally got the results like 2 weeks later id already cured it but they were gonna give her antibiotics for it! i just bathed it with salt water to get rid of bugs. my hv made us go to her clinic on one day instead of her visiting so maybe its like that?

Tyler's cord took about 2 weeks to fall off! When it did I screamed and luckily OH was there to get rid of it!

We didn't have any outside visits luckily. The HVs are based 2 busses away (although clinic is a 2-3 min walk) and 1st floor flats, buggies, babies and c sections do not mix!

Emilys cord took a couple of weeks to drop off - apparently the antibiotics we were both taking can make it stay attached longer.

My OH is freaking out about the cord lol and is off nappy duty until it goes. He can be such a wuss lol. I'm not looking forward to it but not like my mate who had her son's cord framed eeeeeewwwwwww

i had to snip alyssas off as it was hanging on by a thread and the lil bit that was still attatched was bleeding every time it got knocked or pulled

Eeeeeeewwwwww. Better that than it get caught on something and rip off though

Well my little soldier put on 4oz so is a whopping 6lb 3oz now lol. He's been discharged for everything but his cord and I have to go back next thursday for a uterine check but after that no more midwives yay!!!!!!!

The mw I saw was the one who did my booking in. She's mental lol, reminds me of someone from st trinians. Anyway she agreed with me about the lactose intolerance and told me to push for prescription food from the gp which I will.

Just so happy he's put on weight after the false starts with feeding :yay:

Great stuff, well done mummy and Bertie
