Umbilical cord stump

Gonna ask at our 5 day check tomorrow but Henry's umbilical cord stump seems to bleed. When I change his nappy there is always dried blood on the inside of his vest. It's not a lot, just like a smear.

Has anyone elses baby had this? I know it shouldn't bleed but not sure if this is just where it's catching when we pick him up and cuddle him etc.

My daughters did bleed very slightly and it was due to it being knocked . As long as its just a smear I wouldn't worry hun xxx

Yup we had that and took nearly 3 weeks to fall off!

Stanley had this and if started to whiff the midwife said it was normal!! The advice she gave was to fold his nappy down and let as much air get to it as poss!! It fell off two days later xx

Yeah same all the blood was gone by 3weeks x
