So I got my BFP last night :-D My clearblue test says 1-2 weeks pregnant. I know that probably means the docs will class me as 4 weeks if from last AF. So - all being well- will I have my 12 week scan in 10 weeks or 8 weeks? So confusing! If we conceived on the date i think we did, we'll be 2 weeks on Friday,

I know it's early days but I dont know what happens next? Do I call my doctor now or wait til I'm 8 weeks or so or what?!

I went to my doc a week or so after I got my bfp.. then he sent my referral off to the hospital. I knw places do it diff they can mw to make app for there 8 week booking in app. We do that all on our 12 week app. Call ur doc let them knw. Congratulations

Congratulations!!!!! I waited a bit to call GP,but asked for an appointment straight with the midwife (advice from a friend as she went to GP and he just said book an appointment with midwife) so to cut out the middle man she suggested just ask for midwife appointment. I rang at about 6 weeks as I'm a teacher and needed to make sure appointment was out of working hours! Had my booking in appointment at 7 weeks, where she dated me from the first day of my last period. Which was the same as what I'd worked out! There are loads of apps that will help with that!! Just ring the GP and ya you've found out you're pregnant and ask what the protocol is-the receptionist will sort you out!!! Good luck and congratulations again!!!!xxx

Yep your scan will be based on your last AF, so should be 8 wks away by the sounds of it. As other have said ring your surgery and ask them for a mw appt/how it works. Congrats! x

So when I look at apps and stuff-where it shows how big your baby is and everything-should I be looking at 2 weeks or 4 weeks? Im so confused!!!

4 weeks hun, always add 2 weeks on to your clear blue result! Xx

The first 2 weeks of a 40 week pregnancy is ovulation and so on x

Hopefully this explains it better than I can... 'You're not actually pregnant for the first two weeks after the first day of your LMP. Although pregnancy is counted from the first day of your LMP, you're not likely to ovulate and conceive a baby until about two weeks after that day.'

A clear blue test only picks up on hormones from the pregnancy, hence why it won't pick anything up in the first 2 weeks, as there isn't actually anything there for the first 2 weeks!
Hope that helps! And congratulations :) x

Thanks ladies!!! So 8 weeks instead of a 10 week nervous wait! Eeek! I'm still trying to get my head round it all. I keep having AF style cramps and freaking out!

I got my BFP today and done a clearblue digi and got 2-3 weeks so does that make it 4-5 weeks? Confused x

It says on the packet what it really means. I think 1-2 was 3-4 weeks and 2-3 was 4-5 etc!!x
