Sarahcarps2be, we just get SMP or MA as a general rule. But some companies offer great benefits and they will add to your statutory allowance, some top it up so that you actually get full pay for several months! I just get SMP though :( Still, paid to sit at home cuddling my gorgeous bundle...

I think for me it's mostly tiredness getting in the way. When my husband gets up for work I'm still half asleep, and by the time I get back I'm too shattered. Weekends only for me, and not always then!

I had my booking in appointment at 10 weeks and my next appointment is at about 19 weeks (had 12 week scan in between). I think for me the reason that there is no 16 week appointment is that my midwife and I had clashing holidays so I think the 19 week app is just a postponed 16 week...
