    Poopy Cloth Diapers

I started off rinsing then couldn't be bothered so I didn't. They did get a bit stained but hanging them out in the sun sorted that problem. The only real problem was that the nappy bin did get a bit stinky so I had a keep the bathroom window open

    Going away with cloth nappys

We use cloth at oh's parents and disposables at my parents mostly because my parents house is small with nowhere except the room we sleep in to keep the nappy bin and his family's has a big airy bathroom. I would look at the logistics of it rather than worry about your mum's opinion. Good luck x

    Grunting and straining

It's normal for babies to grunt, strain and generally seem like they are struggling with the softest of poos. It's because they are not used to the sensation and using those muscles. My lo still looks like he's trying to pass a watermelon when in reality it's a tiny blob :)

    Lip tie

Hi, does anyone have experience of lip ties? I was poking around in Owens mouth today looking for teeth while he was asleep and I noticed that his top lip is completely attached between his front teeth which have a big gap between them. I then made the mistake of googling which mentioned needing...

    Baby Carriers??

I've just bought a manduca which is a buckled carrier. It has a newborn insert attached which you just unroll to use which means it can be used from newborn to toddler. I'm using it with my 13 month old and it's really comfy

    Problems with BFing

You can try doing breast compression while he's feeding to make the milk flow faster. You make a 'c' shape with the opposite hand to boob iykwim and just squeeze hard. It worked sometimes when my little one went through this phase. X

    Can babies eat too much?

They do eat loads, especially in the first year. If you think about it a baby triples it's weight in its first year. Imagine how much you would have to eat to do that!

    Losing it!

Oops forgot to add that he's still bf and thriving so he obviously was getting enough even though it certainly didn't feel like it at the time

    Losing it!

Owen did this for months, I lost count of the number of bf supporters, health visitors and lactation consultants I saw. Nothing helped very much but sometimes wearing a necklace with bells and other stuff for him to play with while he fed helped a bit. All I can say is hang in there and trust...

    Cheap mei tai link

I don't know what safety stitching is but I made one on my machine with just a straight stitch. I just triple stitched any weight bearing seams and did a box with a cross through where the straps meet the body. Ours is still going strong at 13 months!

    The nappy poll!

I like gnappies best but they have some drawbacks Pros - slim fitting - nice colours - good leg cuffs to keep out leaks - waterproof inner bit but cotton outer so it doesn't rub - can use whatever inserts you want - they do up backwards so little hands can't reach the Velcro - quick to dry...

    Changing unit?

We have a Velcro fastening belt looped under the mat which we 'tie' him down with. It doesn't stop him rolling over and crawling all over the mat but would buy us that extra second if he decides to do a quick flip while our hands are full of pooey nappy
