Why do some schools have suits ??

Hi why do some high schools insist on super strict blazer and tie uniforms ?? The school my step daughter 14 goes to has a strict blazer and tie uniform she hates it. However my son 11 started secondary school in September and his school had a jumper and polo shirt uniform. Why don't all schools just have a basic uniform like my sons school ????

School polo shirt with school logo
Black school trousers
School shoes / plain black lace up plimsolls (recommended by school as a cheap alternative )

My step daughters uniform
School blazer
School tie
School shirt
Grey school trousers
Leather school shoes

Forgot to mention the cost difference is massive aswell

I'm a bit old fashioned and much prefer the smarter look for school rather then the usual look. I send my 5 year old in with shirt and tie with skirt or pinnafore only a polo pe days.

My son would hate wearing a tie lol glad his school has a basic uniform
