Hi this should probably be in the feeding section but I think this section might have more visits.
I al looking at high chairs, even though we are only 14 weeks old and wondered if anyone had any experience or advice?
We do not have much space and both suffer back trouble.
The one I had looked at is Chicco Polly Progres5 3 in 1 Highchair as it seems so handy but am I getting carried away with gimmicks?
Any opinions would be appreciated :)

We have a baby bjorn one, it's expensive but folds up flat and isn't massive anyway. Lots of people have an IKEA one though which is good too x

Think about how easy (or not) it will be to clean, the ones that are padded and have lots of nooks and crannies are a nightmare to keep hygienic. I don't honestly think you need a high chair which reclines and has different settings etc as you won't use them. For practicality you can't beat the ikea antilop and it is cheap as well. They also get snapped up so quick on resale sites so you could buy for £20 and sell on for £10. It's a no brainer x

Yeah as browneyedgirl says avoid ones with nooks and crannies. And also ones with fabric or fabric belts. Think the idea with the reclining thing is so they could potentially sleep in there? But there is zero chance my lb would've fallen asleep in a high chair so you just can't predict whether it would be of use or not. I'd get a cheap basic one first like IKEA and if you think one with the bells and whistles would suit you better then at least you won't have wasted much money

Would def get the ikea chair. So easy to clean and very cheap! I had a padded one to start with and it was a nightmare, particularly if you are doing baby led weaning.

defo Ikea!! We got a different more padded one but it was sooo hard to clean we binned it and got the ikea one xx

Ikea one is fab for first 6mt I would say. Then I got a 2nd hand more padded one, still used to use ikea one at families. X

We had a red kite one which I used for Harry and James and got an Ikea one for Alfie and I wish I had one from the beginning as it so good. You can get a blow up insert for it too so baby is a bit more cushioned. So good for the money xx

I got a joie snacker or something which had a cover and reclined. Im still using it but regret not getting an ikea one. Never needed the recline and its not easy to clean.

The straps were stained within a couple of meals, tried washing and that didnt work. I replaced them for black straps then removed them altogether and ripped and cut the cover off because i just couldn't keep it clean enough. I don't often have it folded so im sure ikea one would have been fine. I did baby led weaning hence my issues with cleaning everything!

Another vote for Ikea here. I'd tried a couple different ones bought second hand but eventually settled on Ikea as my wee boy always slouched terribley in anything that didn't have a solid upright bit between his legs! So cheap and easy to clean and although they don't fold I've never found that an issue as in practice it gets used so much I would never think to put it away anyway.
