It's been 9 days since Amelia was born and I'm still bleeding a lot.
When the midwife was round on Sat she asked me if I was still bleeding and if it had settled.
I said it had and it was now dark pinkish and she said good because it shouldn't be red anymore...

But now it is red. Sorry for tmi, but I don't have an awful lot on the pads, it's when I go to the loo there is loads in the bowl.

She is coming back tomorrow morning, so I'll mention it to her then, but was just wondering what everyone else's experience was. I'm sure that with the boys it tailed off about this time. I have no clots either.

Oh, I just thought. I had the injection for the placenta after having the boys, but didn't with Amelia - could that have anything to do with it?

Are you doing a lot luv? If you are being too active then the bleeding gets heavier (hence why I bled for over 6 weeks after I had Mhairi!), it's just your bodies way of telling you to SLOW DOWN!!!

I bled for exactly 6 weeks. And the same as you, i told mw it was calming then it started back up. But it was coz i was doing too much!

Ditto above!! Try and rest a bit more if you can, I started to feel I was getting back to normal after around 3 weeks, started going for walks, shopping etc and the bleeding got worse again so took it as a sign to slow down abit, congrats on your little girl :D

Ditto all the above too.

My bleeding kept calming right down then I would do too much (my MW got fed up of telling me I think!).

In all I bled for 5 weeks before it stopped.

Put your feet up.

hmm, tbh yeah i probably am doing too much.

we have a house inspection on wednesday because we failed the last one as the gardens were untidy. they came at 4pm on friday to inspect and i spent the whole of the thurs and fri tidying and went into (my 40min) labour that night!

so we have to make everything tody cause if we dont pass then we have to move out in a months time.....
