I have no idea.My little one has suddenly started to get very wriggly and active, but is only 5 weeks.

Hi

I first put Olivia on her front at 5 wks, it didn't occur to me before but the HV kept on saying to me to give her "tummy time".

Lucy

Yeah i wouldn't leave it much longer. I didn't do it early enough with Aimee so when i did she hated it and screamed. Didn't go on her belly after that till she rolled on it herself.

I started with lying down and putting Seren on my chest so she got used to being on her tummy. The at around 5 weeks I put her on the floor on her tummy.

i put hayden on his front now, i've been putting him on his front on my chest from day 1 but hes a very strong baby and he holds his head up really well. its so funny when i put him on his front he tries to wriggle and gets frustrated when he cant get anywhere and starts whimpering! lol

he holds himself up though..he holds his neck up and pushes up using his hands!
you can try putting them on their fronts on a pillow to help them get neck strength!

wow hayden sounds like a strong boy :D

thats class at 2 weeks old

yeah i put it down to him being 9 days late! the midwife and hv said hes got strong muscle tone..he keeps headbutting me when i hold him to my chest cos he lifts his head and looks round. hehe
my mum said hes a strong boy but i just thought she was being a proud nanny..i didnt realise that hes actually really strong for his age.

I used to lay Aaron on his changing mat from quite an early age. I would start now hun.

Noah was the same, he was 9 days late and the day he was born he lifted his own head!! Quite an acheivement when his head measurement was so massive!

Tummy time is really important, and mums dont give there babies enough tummy time apparently because they assume its bad for them. But so long as its while they are awake and just short amounts of time during the day its good to start doing asap. Just dont put them to sleep on their fronts.

Yeah its good for them to have it early, jaycee didnt like it til she rolled on her own and even then the 1st time she did she screamed!!
