Depends on where and when and why.
I like a pint of proper ale (or stout, or porter etc) in the pub, although in summer when it's really hot I prefer a shandy, or when there's a good one on tap I like proper cider (not nasty chemical strongbow, but the stuff they actually make from apples) or perry.
I also love cocktails and when just staying in for a quiet night I love heavy reds, especially Bordeaux.
The best drink I ever had, though, probably was a glass of Malt Whiskey sitting in front of our tent somewhere at Loch Ossian, after having walked 3 days through the wilderness to get there. The sun was setting over the Nevis range, and it was just beautiful.
I don't drink to get drunk though, I prefer having less to drink, but then with good quality, rather than a lot of cheap and nasty.
At the moment I'm stuck with Becks alcoholfree and the very occasional weak bitter shandy, and I can't wait for that glass of bubbly (a nice bottle of Nicholas Feuillatte Brut) after Horatio's arrival.
