U get to know the gender?
I know this Q is been asked Zillion of times but I am soo excited that I am close to the date and could go any time to check but wouldn't want to go on waste!
Last time it was 15+ weeks for me.!
I might be more than 13 weeks now as the sonographer I went to wasn't so good...but lets just assume I am 13+, will It be visible but 14 weeks?? I have a feeling I am having a boy and I don't want to go and be told it's a girl coz they didn't see anything and then turns to be a boy lool!
any ideas?

From what I've read, you can tell from as early as 16 weeks. Private clinics in the UK don't offer gender scans any earlier than this, but none of them can ever guarantee to be 100% accurate. After all, if bubba's got his/her legs crossed, there ain't no way of knowing!

I'm sure I read the same thing, about 16-17 weeks.

Let us know if/when you find out. x

last time i found out 15+ so a bit earlier than what is said.. I also read some where here in the forum a woman found out the sex of he Little boy at around 13+! I am going soon so I'll keep u all updated :)

I think it's easier to sex a boy earlier than a girl but like the others say, 16 weeks plus is usual, the longer you leave it though the more likely you are of seeing defined "bits"

The baby's genitals are all fully formed by 16+ weeks so you can tell anytime from there. And as Noodle said, it is easier to tell if it's a boy because their bits dangle.. It's never 100% though.. hope this helps. :D

my mate found out she was having a boy at 14 weeks  on a private scan
and she went went for her 21 week normal scan and they said it was a boy aswell
the woman who did her private scan told her tht its not jst the bits they look at apparently boys are ment to have more ribs then girls  .but if thats the case they would be hundred percent sure all the time.
but she did have a boy so who nos haha x

We have the same amount of ribs :)

I found out at 17 weeks I was having a little boy.
My 20 week scan wasn't scheduled until 14th January and I couldn't wait that long so booked up privately.
At the clinic I went to www.apeekabooimaging.co.uk they do gender scans from 16 weeks and it costs £65 including 2 pictures, you also get to see baby in 4d and have the option to purchase 4d pictures at £5 each.

an experienced sonographer could guess with 85% accuracy at around 12w, if they could get the scan at the right angle (side view, no twisted torso, not too curled up, etc). However, the NHS policy is not to tell you that early (because of the 15% risk of getting it wrong) even if the same hospital is happy to tell you later in the pregnancy.

There's a load of stuff about it on various websites - there's even one website, www.ingender.com, where you can post your 12w scan pic and various women will have a go at guessing for you. Most of them are amateurs, but there's at least one antenatal sonographer on that site. Of course, it depends on the quality of your scan pic.
