I really like the name Coral but its my sisters name and we dont get on, i mean really dont get, she cut me dead when i got divorced as did the rest of my family, anyway i really dont know if i could use her name or not especially as she is such a bitch, oh flippin eck

If you really like the name then dont see why you shouldnt use it, if you are choosing it because you like it and it has nothing do to with your sister then i say go for it other wise how about as a middle name.

If it was me im not sure i could use it. Its a shame but theres a name i love but i used to go to school with someone with the same name. They ended up being a drug addict and generally a nasty peice of work.
Unfortunately as much as i love the name, whenever i think of it i think of her. But i agree maybe as a middle name would be nice and its not so direct that way?

If you really like it then i don't see a problem if you don't see your sister anymore, or maybe as a middle name would be better. i think i would struggle if it belonged to someone I didn't like much, it would put me off and make me think of them, but if you don't mind...go for it!

On another note my beautiful collie puppy was called Coral, and she was unfortunately run over about 6 months ago now, I thought I was going to die with her when we lost her, so the name is very very special to me......

Its a beautiful name!!

My initial reaction is to tell you if you like the name to use it, BUT i've really gone off Sophia and Sophie since my baby daddy decided to cheat with a Sophie who was being very two faced saying all sorts of crap about him, so it would affect me too.

Having said that i still really like the name Sophia, i'll just wiat and see what baby looks like, you never know they might pop out looking just like a Coral and the name would be perfect, then i dont think other people will affect you

I posted recntly about my ex naming his baby Jade which to me was just weird.

IMHO, the name will always remind you of your sister so why attach that memory to your daughter?
