I have kept me and Isaac's wristbands from the hospital. I have his umbillical cord with the clip on it in a urine sample bottle with the date and time it fell off written on it. I have all the congratulations cards we recieved plus all of Isaac's christmas cards and birthday cards. I have his 1st and 2nd birthday candles, his first babygrow, his first curl I chopped off, his birthday banners and his first favourite book :D

I need a bigger keepsake box though :(

Leckershell...do you have any that you can personalise? That would be lovely to have his own box with his picture on and date of birth etc....

What have you girls kept?

wristbands
cord clip
cards
doppler
countdown board (yes, my mum was excited   )
lock of hair that my mum cut off her and stuck in my first mothers day card
hospital towel
tiny vest

cord :puke: lil miss' went all pusy at the end... thats ewwwwww.... Didn't get to keep her wrist band ... the SCBU took it off and threw it away

haha Kimbo I have 2 hospital towels too

Yeah midna I'm good thanks. Been away alot and the laptop is still up in the loft so I don't get online much. Isaac is getting really tall and has started talking which is weird but cool. Hopefully he'll be starting nursery in January so I can start thinking about baby number 2 or going back to some sort of employment.

I see your little lady is growing fast :D

They'll be too busy floating about on them hover boards to watch DVD's

I have Isaac's scan pics too and what they allowed me to keep of my hospital notes. I wish my mum and dad had kept all my things that I've kept for Isaac although I think a girl would appreciate it more than a boy when they are older. Isaac will probably just be embarrased by it. I can see me now showing his girlfriends his umbillical cord over dinner :D

You know with modern technology and stuff do you think generations will know more about eachother? I have never seen any photo's of my great grandparents but Isaac will have lots of memories online to show his grand kiddies....and their kiddies....its going to be so different

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: @ the cord
also... i must have 6 or 7 hundred photos on my laptop of Leah
i cant possibly print them all off and album them.
what do i do? show her the pictures online??!!

LMAO- :rotfl: :rotfl:

yeah can't imagine getting the cord out at his 18th birthday..i'm gonna be an embarrasing mum

lol@hoverboards!!! i think it is more a girl thing but oh well i'll keep them for me if he don't want them!!

Yeah Kimbo! Thats the way things are nowadays. Kids use computers when they go to school so it will be the norm for her to view photos online. I do sometimes think I'd like to print off our photos and have an album but it would be so time consuming....I'm sure there are companies that specialise in doing it for you but you can imagine how much they'd charge! We have the opposite problem with our travel albums, we want them online but I can't get round to scanning them all onto our laptop, would take forever :(

and yeah Fran we know we are really keeping everything for us not our LO's

Yeah totally- omg i never realised it before..i thought i was being a lovely mum keeping all
this stuff for him....hes not having it!! its MINE!!!!

I love looking back on things. Where our friends live in Horseham there is a park and when one of my friends son's were little they built a walkway and paved part. Its really lovely and what they did was offer any local people the chance to have a brick with a name engraved into it so my friend has their own little engraved brick there with their sons name on it. Its a beautiful thing and hopefully it will be there for a long time and something his kids will see and their kids.

Fran come one....be nice and share...theres a good mum :D

Iv kept a piece of hair..congrats cards..first baby grow and hat.. scan pics.. wrist bands.. and two newspapers from the day he was born, a local Gazette and The Mirror! £70.oo now for The Daily Mirror, I wanted one dated of the day my mum was born for her 60th! Cally

her first soft shoes
her first favourite toy
congratulations cards
copy of her birth story
photo of her and the midwives who delivered her
plus she will have the naming ceremony stuff, birthday cards etc as she gets older

I need to get some proper boxes toput it all in. I have a ceramic "tag" for Seren'sbox with her DOB and birthweight on and need to get one for Call's. I couldn't keep their cord, I just couldn't have some flesh in there - am really squeamish lol.

I am doing mine for my girls. I have absolutely no record of my childhood, when my parents died I lost all my past really. I don'tknow anyhting about when I sat for the first time, walked etc, my first word or how my mum'spregnancy went. It'sone thing that really upsets me so I am making sure my girls have all this. I am also doing a scrapbookfor them both and we have made little videos of Seren's first 2 years, and are currently doing Cally's.
