what do you think of this girls name ?

just mentioned my suggested name of Isabella May to my midwife and she replied that is was a very common name right now..... i had specifically picked it over something like Sophie, Emily or Ella because it wasnt overly popular in all the baby name lists i had looked at - not in the top 20 at least ... so now on a bit of a downer over it as i really don't want her ( if a her!) to be in a school full of other isabella's

what do you think, is it too popular right now... and should it really matter ?? !!
:wall:

I like it but the only Isabella (child) I know is always called Izzy. Not a girly girl so it works well for her. Isabella just does not suit her and its never used

I know an adult Isabella also and she is really girly. She is defo not an Izzy  She is tiny and blond and it suits her :)

I teach at a private school and teach a few Isabellas but they all prefer to be known as Izzy.

I think the name you have picked is lovely. It's very rare to get two pages of comments on a name where everyone is in agreement on here - so I would stick with it regardless of what your midwife says. Besides which, I don't think Isabella is that high up in the charts at the moment. It's all Lily and Ellie and Gracie as far as I'm aware?

This is a really good site which maps the popularity of your child's name over the last 10 decades:
