ive been looking at twin pushchairs as nathan will be 22 months when this baby is born.
when do kids start walking full time? when did you kick them out the pushchair?
i hate seeing 5 year olds still being pushed around but dont wanna take him out too soon and make my life a nightmare.
i like those buggy boards but i thought if hes playing up or going through the running off phase then being able to strap him in might be better.

Hannah is just 2 and walks most of the time but does get tired and i put her in the pram for safety reasons too when we r near busy roads or i have my hands full

Aimee almost 22 months and I definatly still need a double pram. I'm thinking of getting a buggy board soon but I know she won't go on it very often yet. Most of the time she still needs to be strapped down when we are out. I think Aimees gonna need a pram for another year or so yet although she is getting better.

My daughter is nearly 19 months and she has barely used her pram since 16 / 17 months.
I only use it if I am going to the shop and I am getting heavy stuff, then I can use the shopping basket - she usually helps (well I say helps!) me push it. I have a hip seat thing for when we go shopping etc in case she gets tires, and she has her harness on for safety but I can never be bothered to put the pushchair up and down and bother with it.

I may get one of those buggy boards when this LO comes along - purely because I'm sure she may get jealous and want a ride like the baby.
Although I have seen the most gorgeous double buggy in Mothercare

I'd just thought I'd say the reason I still need Aimee in the pram all the time is I can't hold rein propally with one hand or go running after her with Nathan in the pram. As for shopping I can't push a pram, hold a basket and Aimee at the same time. So although if its just me and Aimee she can walk to the school and back no problems which is a 30 minute walk its just not practical when you have to push a pram too. I have tried it and it just gets me stressed out, lol. Thank God for double prams!

Stephens 3 and still occasionally needs his buggy for a long walk around town.
but this is long walks only, at 22 months your lo will easily tire so get a double for them, i wish i had!!!

Yeah just thought I'd add as well, OH always has the car for work, so I only go shopping with him there so we always have someone to look after her. DD doesn't really like her pushchair anyway so it's not through choice!

Ooo I feel like a bad mum... :rotfl: Tia started walking at 9 months, and by 12 months, had figured out how to climb out of the pushchair and wander off... I just got sick of it... so got some reins and made her walk everywhere.... She walked everywhere (unless it was a really long distance, like Disney World) by the time she was 1 1/2... She loved it though, walking was her greatest desire from the moment she was born... :rotfl: She still loves walking places.

charlotte was walkin at nearly 11 months. now she walks everwhere but we take her pram when we go pretty far incase she gets tired, i needed her out of her pram for wen baby is born as i dont drive and it would be a pain gettin on the bus with a twin buggy.

I would get a double buggy but don't spend a fortune on it. My Mum looks after Jake and as my little brother was only just two when Jake was born I bought a Maclaren double buggy from the local paper for £50 which was in fab condition. My little brother is nearly 3 now so walks most places but the buggy is still handy if he gets tired on a long walk around town for example.

thanks everyone. i think im gonna get a 2nd hand one off ebay for around £100 that way if i only use it for a few months i havent lost alot.

We have a tandem one that we got from mothercare for £129.99. It's great I like it so much. It's very useful, as although Lydia loves walking it's too difficult to keep her away from roads and nettles whilst pushing a single pram with Alex in it, so my tandem is a lifesaver.

Don't go for a £100 second hand one when you can get a brand new one for £129.99 ;)

we just brought one for alana and the new baby, alana likes running off in shops so dont fancy chasing her around with a baby. im going to be slinging the new baby so for short trips alana can go in her single buggy
