Do u have to stay in hospital once they've started things off or can you go home to labour there for a bit? Can u still use a TENS machine? Are u constantly hooked up to a monitor or a drip or something?

Any info would be appreciated girls! xxx

It depends I think. If you have the gels I think they let you home for 6 hrs in between pessaries. However once on drip you've gotta stay in and not sure about if they artificially rupture your membranes. you do get monitored but not continuously but depends on each case, and the method. I would of thought tens machine would be fine. BTW how did your sweep go? X

Thanks Lettie. Do u know if they put everyone on the drip or is it only as needed?

Sweep was unsuccessful as my cervix is still closed - i expected it really. Got another one booked in for Thursday and if that doens't work will be discussing the induction option!

Hey hun,

I have just spoke to me midwife today about my induction.. Once you are started off (by pessery) you have to stay in, Also my midwife has said a defo to getting a tens machine, She said that you are constantly hooked upto a monitor for babys heart rate and depending on how the first pessery worked they will decide on wether to give you a hormone drip. But i will be needing one either way for my GD xxx

You may not EldraW :) I didnt :)

Dee - they only use the drip as last resort or if your waters have gone and its been 48h...

The gel can take upto 6 hrs to work think they like you to just stay in...normally they book you in for an evening start anyway?? xx

Oh i was told today that i would to be on one for my insulin as i cant eat xx
