Harrys right eye is still weeping (was from birth) - he's not bothered by it and I have been cleaning it with boiled water. Can anyone suggest using anything else?

jake had that from birth and the doc said it was conjunctivitus so prescribed various eyedrops that seemed to irritate more than anything. My instinct told me to leave it, just wash it when it needed it and it just cleared up spontaniously at about 3 months. I think like minda so gracefully put it- a blocked duct. Just massage the duct and it should clear up by itself. Its a really common thing actually :)

One of my MW's who attended my HB and visited a couple of times suggested I put a drop of breast milk on Galen's sticky eye after bathing it. Seemed to do the job but a few days ago we had to get eye drops as his eye started oozing. HV said breast milk is good to use but felt eyedrops were needed as the eye began to look nasty and swollen shut. Much better now :)

Sticky eye is very common in newborns, but if its all mucky and horrible id go to your doctor and ask for some drops as suggested.

Finlay has this too - it went away but now its back.

The health visitor is coming today so I am going to ask her
