Wedding invitations

Did any of you married ladies do your own invitations? after seeing the price of personalised invites and really not wanting cheapo unpersonalised ones, i decided to do my own invites, but having difficulty finding any nice embellishments i want on the front, bearing in mind i need approx 100 invites i need em as cheap as possible, looking on ebay but not found anything thats cheap or nice enough yet

ive downloaded some fonts to do the inserts, thats all sorted, just need something for the fronts, im thinking square gold organza with a dark red love heart on it..... what you reckon?

i made ours it was great fun!!! used cream cards, and nice cream envelopes, then used a corrogated cream square and a single scottish thistle... got it all off the bay

advice is keep it simple...they look better and are easier to make.

Theres quite a few card makers on here so i'm sure someone will have a shopping recommendation!

i bought my invitations me 2 you ones which is what i based my wedding on then with the leftover invitations to make my order of services, so no good advice but good luck

you could do a centre stripe down the middle of the card with the ribbon and place a heart/s on it...

right ive bought 200 gold wedding rings which ill intertwine 2 of em and stitch em to dark red organza and glue that to the front, which is our colour scheme, shall keep you updated 8)

I made mine myself and I know Emmylou did too...we both got the same things more or less from ebay

Mine were not perfect but not too bad for a cheap attempt

I actually placed a small hear to the right of the bigger one too to even it out ...( thanks Em )

I ordered all mine for £42 from www.brideandgroomdirect.co.uk they offered such a great service and they are adorable (we went with the Romance ones if they still do them?) and heaps of people commented on them. Order a few free samples perhaps, the Romance ones were not our top choice when viewing them online but when we recieved them they were so much nicer!

Also, if you do want to make them do an international seller search on ebay (from America!) they have some awesome embellishments (I'm a huge card maker and scrapbooker and order heaps from over the pond!) they are cheap too especially if they are charging say $5.00 it's only £2.50 (give or take a penny or two!). Worth thinking about and most sellers are great with marking the customs form "gift" so you don't pay the import charges.

So much fun! I am making save the date cards too because we are having our wedding reception in Sept (only had a small wedding in Feb with family), they are the same design but underneath where it says wedding invitation I have printed the following quote:

"To the world you may be one person,
But to one person you are the world"
