My Kobi is poorly with a cold infact he's quite ill he has a ear infection and lots of green phlegm too. i took him to the docs yesterday expecting some antibiotics as he obv has got a chest infection, all he told me was to water down his feeds, only add half the scoops of milk, i was like  i've had 4 babies and i've never been told this before, what do you think? xx

I wouldn't have thought so to be honest because then he'd be filled up with water but not getting the nutrients from the milk? If he's drinking his milk as normal I'd be tempted to keep feeding him as normal and maybe offer some water in between if he seems dehydrated but not otherwise.

Poor Kobi, hope he feels better soon

ive been told to water feeds but only to wean off night bottles. im not sure i would do it for a cold.. is he throwing up the milk? go with your instinct hun x

no he's not being sick, he's taking his feeds a bit slower thats all..thanx for the speedy responses girls xx

He might not be so hungry as he is quite poorly with his cold and the doctor probably wants him to at least get some fluids. My LO was quite poorly and she hardly ate at all but drank loads and loads of water but very little milk.

Kyla was in hospital last week and they told me to do it, coz the milk would be too thick as she had a bad chest. She wouldnt drink the milk with the normal amount of scoops but when i tried only half of the scoops she drunk it fine. I think it would be fine for a few days and at least he'll be drinking, and getting some vitamins from the milk.

Sounds as though the Dr wants to get fluids in him. Milk canbe abit thick...

I was told to do it when it was the summer and corey was constipated. <ake a 6oz bottle and only put 4 scoops in, so I did that for every other bottle of the day for two days. He was fine with it.

i dont like the sound of that :? its specifically says on the back of tubs not to water down feeds.

hope your LO feels better soon, its horrid when they're poorly :(
