Well you can never be too safe these days, yesterday we were shopping in the bull ring and we noticed next to one of the barriers a carrier bag just left there which seemed to have some kind of box in it, well it looked quite dodgy, not like a dropped bag like it had been placed there right in the corner of one of the central barriers...so I got Alan to tell the staff about it, he was like dont be silly someone has just forgotton it but i said better safe than sorry its christmas eve, in the biggest mall in europe what if in the unlikely event something happened we would never forgive ourselves for saying nothing.

Well we told them and the whole place stayed open lol so it was probably just someones shopping.

But it made me think, what a sad sad world we live in now we worry about bags left around incase it might be something that could kill thousands.

Such a damn shame :(

Personally i think you were right in what you did, thing is we do live in a bad world.

After working in a shoe shop that had to occasionally check every shoe on display for Razor Blades that would be put in leather shoes nothing surprises me.

Funny you should say this, a friend of ours mother was in our local shopping centre, she sat on a bench next to some foreign guy who was acting very suspicous and she said she felt unsafe and was about to get up, however the guy walked off leaving behind a bag, she ran after him with the bag, and he was very gratious and thanked her for returning it, but he then turned to her and said here il give you a tip, dont be here on the 27th.

Now this could have been harmless, meaning, avoid the centre becauae it will be busy with the chrimbo sales, but because of the society we live in now she reported it to mall security and the police. You just never know.

As for the razor blade thing in shoes, My friend worked in a swimmin pool and they had a problem for a while with people in the flumes putting razor blades in the sides, to cut the inflatables as they went past (however they could do worse damage than this) SHOCKING!

is that Dundee???!!! That rumour was going around here too, P is a policeman and they all got an e mail via police intranet saying about this ridiculous rumour going around that everyone was believing, slight variation on yours thoughm this was about a man and a lost wallet, the shopping setting didn't blow up - maybe someone wanted to shop in peace and quiet!!!!

well for whats its worth you did the right thing like you say if it had been something dodgy you would always wonder what would happen if you did nothing.
