weve just bought a new one but i left it all to ken as he loves gadgets and i have no idea

i will ask him hun and let you know :D

i've just bought the sony cx6 - its fab (all the reviews online agree). i'm a bit of a gadget freak, and i also work in tv production and the best advice i would give is go with a sony camera - they're def the best brand. whether you get a dvd / minidv / smart card camera really depends on what you want to do with the footage. the cx6 is my first smart card camera and i'm totally converted :D happy shopping

I'd not bother with a video camera on its own. Not worth the money IMHO.

I'd just buy a decent digital camera (photo one) with a good video also.

Mine is a Canon Powershot S2 (top of the range point and shoot camera) and the video it takes is great. Good sound also. And can record loads in a 1MB memory card. 20-30 minutes footage worth. Great lens also so takes good pictures and video footage.

I have loads of video footage taken with it, from live gigs to the animals.

I'm not sure what they are called but there are HD video camera's out now that you don't need a tape for. I think it records on to the hardrive and then you can put the film straight on to the computer or a dvd. Me and OH are thinking about getting one. We were looking at them in the Sony shop the other day :D

yup, that's like mine :) they're fab.

geordie lass, its like i said, it really depends what you intend to do with the footage... i'm only using the HD function on the cx6 as my computer & tv are both HD - the quality is absolutely amazing :D i've been making dvds of connor for overseas relatives etc and good though some still cameras are in video mode, they don't compare to my cx6. but i have already confessed to being a geek in that department

Thanks Girls
I was going to stick with my Digi camera on video as my OH said its would be wasting money getting a video camera.

But i'll look into the cx6 and see is i can find it a bargin resonable price to persuade hime to change his mind

thanks agian :D
