Baby is almost 48h and very sicky?

Never had this with James so it's all a bit new.

She arrived very quickly and has been mucousy as well (understand this is common with c sections and fast deliveries). Is it all interconnected?

Saw MW yesterday and no concerns but she seems to be bringing up almost as much as she takes? Not to mention the amount of clothes she is going through?

Will she be likely to remain so sicky?

She is bf and milk isnt in yet..also had 2oz of formula ( 1 oz yest and 1 few hours ago due to not having a wet nappy). She is sick regardless of whether it boob of formula.

She had a poo and wet nappy recently so that is fine.

My ds was a sicky baby and was until he was fully weaned. It sometime seemed he would bring everything up he took and made no difference if he had breast or formula. When he was about 4 months we gave him a bottle of reflux formula a day which helped a bit but not a massive amount. My mum said I was the same. I think some babies are sicky babies. My son was born via section so maybe that has something to do with it.

Possibly reflux? However baby is so young so maybe try propping mattess up so no flat on back etc

Cam was a very sicky baby! My poor washing machine has never seen so much action!!

Some babies are just sicky. As long as she's having wet/ dirty nappies and gaining weight. Def talk to mw again if you are concerned.

Millers a sicky baby too...he was also very mucusy after he was born. He doesn't have reflux or anything..he's just a sicky baby which I wasn't used to either as tyler was never sick xx

Nat we had this with Erraid very Mucusy then sicky. She also wouldn't feed loads because the mucus made her think she was full (midwife said this was all very common), like you I had a fast labour. We went through clothes and Muslins like they were going out of fashion.
It sounds like a little reflux, once you've fed her keep her up right for a good 20/30 minutes to help settle her tummy.
Mention it to the midwife when they come out and as long as she hasn't dropped too much weight then all should be ok.

xx

My lo was very mucousy and sicky (c section birth) this lasted about 4 days I'd say.

My second was very mucousy (c-section) and she was also a bit sicky and she would throw up mucous. The midwife and GP said this was all fine and normal. It probably lasted 2 weeks. She's still a bit sicky now at almost 11 weeks but this is only when she has a growth spurt but I also need to cut caffeine and citrus from my diet as it really aggravates the reflux. Since 6 weeks she's been sick about once a week so she's growing out of it (hopefully anyway).
I hope you're both well otherwise!xx

I had an emergency c-sec so Thomas was abit mucousy.

Thomas was very sicky up until weaning. I breast fed for 3 months and then changed to ff for a number of reasons. He seemed to tolerate ff slightly better but was still sick very often (no discomfort so not reflux). Tbh now when he is sick it shocks me as I'm not used to the constant mop ups anymore!

I think as long as they aren't in discomfort and are putting on weight, nappies fine then I woukdnt worry to much. It's a pain clothes wise it you just need plenty of bibs and muslins

Hi nat, congrats on the little miss :)
C section babies tend to be quiet mucusy, its best to keep feeding and give extra winding its helps bring the mucus up, keep attaching her to the breast to help bring your milk in, it should last 2-3 days roughly x

Congrats on baby Beatrice's arrival :-)

Emma was very sicky. Lost a lot of weight in the first weeks. Until she was 4 or 5 weeks she wouldn't take more than 40mls per feed. 3 hourly. Turned out she had reflux.

Lucie was a sicky baby for the first 4/5 days then stopped. Midwife said she was a bit mucousy too

I learnt the hard way how puke seems mysterious in the way it seems to multiply everything the baby eats, but they still seem to have kept some down. I used to do 3-6 outfit changes for both of us per day. I used to use my easiest to wash microfleece pj bums most of the time.

Seriously, one night when DH came home and cuddled Jess, it was like someone tipped a bucket of milk on him...

I hope she quickly grows out of it, it can be a bit wearing, not to mention worrying in the early days. All sounds reasonable with that quick delivery, apparently cranial osteopathy helps with this problem. I did notice an improvement when I took Jess, but she's always been a pukasaurus
