Naomi developed a wee yellowish growth just at the tip of her middle toe recently. At first I thought it might have been callous and her shoe was rubbing it, but she started to complain whenever I touched it. I thought it might be some kind of fungal infection.
I brought her to the doctor - felt silly, it looked like a bit of dried up rice crispie - but the doctor said - it's a wart!
OH has problems with verrucas at times cos the floor of the place where he teaches karate probably isn't the cleanest and everyone in their bare feet. So we thought she caught it from him.
So we had a miserable few days keeping Naomi's socks on and her feet....sweated and stank, no matter how I tried keeping them clean.
Anyway, yesterday, preparatory to washing her feet and changing her socks, I took off the dirty pair and was examining the toe when I noticed the edge of this thing was lifting off. I got my tweezers and gave it a little tug - and the whole thing came off! It was only caught by a wee rooty type thing at one side and it all peeled away.
There is now no sign that anything was ever wrong with her toe. I'm positive it wasn't a dried rice crispie
, but was it a wart? I thought warts were a lot harder to get rid of?
