I know they will proceed to a section much quicker than with a first labour, but is it only pushing they will limit or will they only let you have contractions for so long too, just wondering because I never got to push with my son because he was at a funny angle and got stuck although I did dilate normally.

My hospital is giving me the choice of section at 39 weeks or trial of normal delivery including going 10 days over and induction - I think this is weird, would they not be better to induce me at 38 or 39 weeks and then Id have a better chance of normal delivery because the baby would not be as big and less likely to get stuck??

It is such a hard decision to make :shakehead:

I'd be interested to know the answer to your questions too, I had a section cos Isaac got stuck but I did dilate normally.

I do know that inducing early is more likely to result in a section, I think that's because your body isn't ready for it. Induction generally carries a higher risk of resulting in a section anyway.

I'd be tempted to go for a trial of natural labour, my worst fear is going through a 24 hour labour again and being totally exhausted by the time they did the section :shakehead: at least this time they wouldn't take their time over it. They wouldn't limit pushing or let you have contractions for so long I'd have thought - I think it's more - at the first sign of trouble they do a section, rather than like with me, they left it and left it and left it...to see if I could do it all naturally :shakehead:
