I voted a nice gesture. Nick doesn't need me to tell him that I love him on a specific day, but I know a card...oh and a packet of Jelly Babies will be much appreciated

I voted nice gesture. I'm not that bothered about the commercialised side of it TBH. I'd rather he get me a bunch of flowers on any other day of the year not cos he felt he had to cos it was valentines day.

But I like a take away and a cuddle on valentines day

think its all rubbish tbh... I'd much prefer if DH picked a day at random to buy me flowers... I hate the fact that greedy companies milk the holiday for every penny...its also why I am so bar humbug about xmas... plus its been made all tacky, plastic and artificial... :(

I think its only a bit of fun when your younger. Making and sending cards to people you fancy.. checking the mail box to see if you got one :D

Now though, I have to admit I would be slightly disappointed if I didn't get anything.I still feel special if I get something because he doesn't buy me tacky V.day things, he buys something I like and has put the thought into.

If I didn't get flowers of V.day, I would probably never get them from year to year so I lap it up!

Dont give a didly squat as you put it just like mothers day and fathers day all out to make money

I'm a diddly squatter all right. It's a bit twee. On saying that the chocs in M&s look soo yum...

Voted that i dont give a diddly squat. Me and OH arent doing anything this year at all. Dont want any gifts as we would rather spend any spare cash on things for baby.

Valentines Day is just another day to be as romantic as a dead fly as far as my OH is concerened, after 11 years with him its kind of dead for me now too.

On our 3rd Valentines day together he didnt get me anything. I was expecting him to suprise me or something but when, by the end of the day it was clear I was delouded, I was quite upset and asked him if he had got me anything. His reply.... "What? I got you some flowers last year"!!!! :rotfl:

Its basically a money making holiday for all shops ect!
Most things are an absolute rip off!!

Especially cards!! have you seen how expensive nice ones are!!

but its always nice to get a card and present from the one
you love and who loves you
A nice meal would be nice too :D

I think it's a nice gesture!
We get each other a card but that's about it really!

anything would be nice! but no chance of that since I am single :(

It's a nice idea. I can't get around much at the moment so I won't be getting OH a present. I don't know if he'll get me anything.
But we don't get each other anything for our anniversary either. It's around midnight on New Year so other people always seem to put off fireworks for us :rotfl:

my boyf and i dont rele do valentines day, but last year when i was preggas he got me a big bunch of flowers and a card saying how much he loves me and how excited he was about our baby. aww! i loved it! it meant more because he dont usually do it, iykwim, he was doing it coz he wanted not just coz its what u do on feb 14th type thing.
not expecting anything this year tho but i got him a card.

you shouldn't need a special day to celebrate your love for someone or tel them you love them. i don't acknowledge valentines day or those silly grandparents day or mothers or fathers day. its a ll a con to get more money out of us.

to be honest i think if ur in love with them u should show them every day not just on one day, iv got DF a card but thats it and iv told him i dont want anything either

Me and DH get each other a card but dont really think much of Valentines Day, we can tell each other we love each other any day of the year without blowing loads of money on stupid Valentines gifts
DH buys me random prezzies and flowers whenever the mood catches him which I prefer as it means he was thinking of me not just doing it coz its Valentines Day

awww i love it ive bought lovely heart shaped candles and love crackers little heart sprinkles for over the table will dig out a sloppy cd and cook a nice meal
ive bought other half a card and a few little bits but we dont spend much money
its just going to be nice to spend some quality time together we dont do it often enough since we had christopher  must make more effort xxxxxx

We're not doing anything special but we always swap cards and stuff, I know it's just another day but I like it :)
