Im finding this really embrassing so thought id ask in here first  I have had Thrush once before and went to my doctor and was sorted straight away, over the last week my area down there  Has become itchy however isnt all the time, theres nothing funny smelling or any more CM than normal so im not sure what to do, i dont think its trush but when it is so itchy its a right pain - the itching seems to be more at night before i go to bed, i have seen the Vagisil products and wondering weather to try them first? However on the back they do say if preganant see your doctor first, however my doctor only does two days at my place which are Thursday/friday, ive already gone over a week like this now and dont think i can wait much longer as its doing my head in at night! I just dont know what to do???

I would go and see a doc hun. Believe me, going to the doc for a quick check will pale into insignificance when you think about giving birth  . You might find that Vagisil makes it worse as it will just make you (TMI sorry) dry and strip your bits of any "good" bacteria.

i used vagisil but i found it didnt work as well as canestan. you can actually get canesten from the chemist without a prescription

Thank you, i knew that was coming lol I just get so embrassed so easyily however had people check out down there before so why any different now! Silly me!

In a lot of pharmacies there are consultation rooms where you can speak to a pharmacist in private. Worth asking. Believe me, they've heard it all before too (though they won't ask to see it) - when I worked in a pharmacy the pharmacist had someone ask which type of condoms were best to use - ribbed, extra sensitive or flavoured :rotfl:

omg i had THE WORST attack of thrush when i was pregnant! i used canesten cream it cleared it up straight away. its only the pill u cant have when pregnant. i rele feel for u!

Id recommend caneston too.. or boots own brand which is exactly the same but cheaper!

Its very common hun so dont feel embarrased!

as far as i can remember the external cream is fine.

THe internal pessaries and cream tell you to consult your doctor but that is cos you can maybe do some damage if you put it too far up (sorry lol)

Speak to the pharmacist or NHS direct love

Im crap at creaming anything down there! SO the Dr gave me a pessary when I was pregnant. It cleared everything up straight away. And he didnt even want to have a poke about up there, just listend to what I had to tell him

So you might not even have to get your foof out

Well i went to the docters she had a look down there which i didnt mind and also took a swap she gave me cream a pessary the cream is doing wonders however i am extremly tight down there i put the pessary in it was uncomfortable and found its way out  OH tried to get it back in but it was so tight and it was hurting me so ive put it back and i guess it will be another trip to the doctors.......Will the cream help or do i need both? I cant sollow tablets which is why had the pessary before and now....

I feel your pain! When I got thrush I had no idea about it and went through 4/5 days of agony, waking at 4am to a red raw area and sobbing my eyes out because of the IRRITATING pain it brings!
I didn't use a pessary, but instead I used the external canasten cream, worked a treat for me and with laborious application all the time, the whole itching and burning sensation had gone within a day or so!

Sorry just read your update now, must remember to read a whole topic before replying LOL :wall:
