So after 6 weeks we finally got DH's sperm test results (at 7.30pm after waiting 2.5 hrs for GP to ring, great time to have to discuss it all!). The GP didn't understand why someone hadn't contacted him. Also it turns out the other GP had not given him any paperwork at all before the test so he didn't follow any instructions. Everything was fine except he was dehydrated (coffee addict) and sample was small, which they were concerned about, but I think the dehydration might have been why. He's back for another test end of January.

We have decided to expand our dtd window from cd8-18 rather than just fertile phase. I am getting signs that I might be ovulating a second time in middle of luteal phase - does anyone know if that's even possible? I get a temp dip, lots of EWCM and pain about cd 18 each month. First ovulation is around cd12-13. So weird. There's been so little research on female fertility I think it's quite possible that I am ovulating again so we are going to cover that just in case.

Starting to wonder what else we need to do to up our chances...maybe coenzyme q10...

Doesn't it just frustrate you!!! I would have been so upset, but spilled milk is what they say. I'm just glad that they have removed their heads from out the *** and that you are finally getting the help you need!

It's so difficult to say whether a second ovulation is taking place. You would have to be closely monitored where the follicles are measured and where they do an internal sonar to check if you are, in fact releasing two eggs during a single cycle. As far as we can tell (ourselves) the best info we have for a possible explanation is that your body might be experiencing two separate LH surges, the first failing and the second successful.

I really hope this journey ends soon for you in a bfp...I hate that you are still having to wait for your rainbow, I cannot imagine what you and DH must be going through :hugs: you are in my prayers hun...xxxx

Glad to hear that there was nothing mega wrong with the sperm analysis but still something that u feel you can work towards. Maybe once hydrated the little swimmers might feel better :dust: and do their job! Xx

Thanks guys.

Kat, the first surge must be sucessful as my temp goes up into luteal phase levels and stays there. I don't know what's going on.

I've looked into Wellman vitamins for him but he's not keen on taking ginseng and didn't get on with maca before.

I'm always checking if he's drunk enough...maybe that's been a factor.

Will just keep soldiering on. xx

Glad to hear there was nothing major with the sperm analysis. 6 week wait though - I'm impressed with your patience!! I'd have been on the phone after 2!!

My OH was taking the Wellman vitamins but we switched to the Tesco ones as they're cheaper. They do have ginseng but no maca in them. Not sure if that helps.

We have both started taking CoQ10 this month as heard it's good for sperm and egg quality. I've decided it's the last supplement I'm trying.

Hope the coenzyme q10 helps Moomingirl. I've decided I need to lose more weight so am giving up chocolate and crisps.

Also the new instructions my DH just picked up said he has to have cleared the pipes as it were not longer than 7 days before a sample. Our fertility doctor said it didn't matter for conception but obviously if it affects a sperm sample it must affect our chances. We normally start dtd right before ovulation. Am really annoyed. So we are going to make sure that that is covered too now, especially as I ovulate early in my cycle.

Decided the coq10 is worth a shot. It's the last thing I'm going to try as I'm sick of spending all this money for no benefit. I gave up crisps a few years ago. Can't say I miss them. Would have the odd few at a buffet or whatever but that's it now.

The instructions my OH got was 2-7 days abstinence before doing the sample. Hope the next test goes well.
