I hold my hands up - I don't have a bloody clue about fish so ideas welcome. OH likes fish so does anyone haverecipes for anything I could cook for both of them (fish makes me want to throw up so I won't be joining them)?

How about meat? We're probably going to have some sort of chicken salad tonight - what would be the best way to cook the chicken so it's suitable for minime too?

Thankoo!

Ditto! I hate fish! So i struggle with this.

Although i am making them tuna lasagne tonight.

Fish pie is prob the easiest!

Just make a white sauce (or cheesy if you are feeling adventurous  ) mix in the the fish (I usually poach the fish in milk if it is Haddock or Salmon etc) then put all in to ovenproof dish, top with mash tatties and bung in the oven with some grated cheese on top.... YUM!!!

even easier is to go to Asda, get some salomon, or cod loin (no bones in it) in one of those cook in bags and follow the cooking instructions (which is heat up oven, bung in for so long, open and serve). Serve with some lovely steamed or roasted veg, baked potato or mash, and a nice sauce (we usually have cheese sauce as Cally loves it).

I noticed in Tesco the other day, they do a fish assortment already cut up to put in a fish pie :cheer:

Ditto to this! We do it and it's soooo easy and OH makes cheese sauce, so yum!

I pick up a fresh fish option from the fishmonger section, whatever takes my fancy and I just fry it in the saucepan til it's cooked and then Ryan just has it like that, as it is, as things like salmon sort of flake off so he picks at it and it falls apart into easy to hold chunks. I do make sure it's fried nicely tho, not all greasy, but the cook-in-a-bag sounds healthier (I'm not one for low fat options lol)

Though if I could be bothered I'd make a sauce to go on it or something :D

I just buy any fish (usually seabass or salmon) and put it under a grill as I can't bear frying fish because of the smell ! Another way is to put in the oven and wrap in a aluminium foil. Just add some spices to your OH and leave it plain for LO.

Apparently yummy with mashed potatoes and steamed veggies.

I know you could also steam fish but I can't bear the thought of my steamer starting to smell like fish

A little squeeze of lemon or is fab on it, before you put it in the oven :D

I make salmon, i either pop in oven in foil with loads of pepper and tomatoes serve with new potatoes and veg or i chop into large pieces and fry with a little oil and pop in wok with carrots broccalli (sp) baby corn and mangetout with a big splash of soy sauce.. yum yum :D

I make fish pie using smoked mackerel:

Flake mackerel into a dish
Add mashed potato
Add grated cheese to top

Bake in oven 180 degrees for 20 minutes

Voila!

This may sound silly but i need to ask

I have made up a load of meat and fish meals and have put them in the freezer for dd.

Whats the best way to defrost it for her dinner when she was on just veg i would take out what i needed and put it in the microwave then let it cool.
