Hi Just after some friendly reassurance. I found out last Monday that I am pregnant. This was unexpected and not in our plan of how things were going. My son is 9 and we both work full time but owe quite a lot of money. It's been a rollercoaster of a week where we seriously thought of not going through with the pregnancy but last night decided we could do this and it may well change our lives but it won't be a bad change.
Basically is there anyone who has been through similar? How do big age gaps turn out. My son adores babies but they're not screaming in your house ! Totally overwhelmed!

Hi onion we r in a similar situation. I am pregnant with our 2nd child and our first is 6. It wasn't planned and like u we r just getting back on our feet but now I am 10 weeks and we r very excited to meet r new arrival and expand our family. Even my daughter who isn't baby friendly is looking forward to it x

My daughter will be nearly 6 when this one arrives. I feel it's a good gap and I can spend time with then both x

My eldest were 9 and 7 when our youngest was born,(she was a surprise baby) they both adapted well to having a baby and she adapted to being hiked from ballet to football to swimming to horse riding to sailing and all the activities along the way. We were getting back on track when she was born but we made it work, I think it's made the eldest keep some of the fun of childhood longer (they are 16&14 now, dd is 7) and it's made my youngest sharp, able to hold her own and hold a compelling argument to the point that all of her educational leaders remark on her maturity and fondness for abit of sarcastic wittiness. We're luckier now financially and life is the complete opposite to how it was then, I'm pleased we didn't make any decisions based on not being able to see out of our situation then. It will sort itself out, the other side of the clouds is the sun even if theres a few more smaller clouds inbetween.

Hi, we are in the same!e situation. Daughter is almost 5 and I'm pregnant with our second which was a huge surprise. I think bigger age gaps are good, my daughter is super excited about this baby and wants to help out.
