Calum's stump smells a bit and looks a bit red underneath and I'm paranoid that it's getting infected despite the fact that the midwife checked it on Saturday and I'm cleaning it. My mum is a trained children's nurse and she looked yesterday and said it didn't look infected and the red looked more like irritation from where the clamp has been touching it - a bit like a sweat irritation. But I just can't feel reassured, I know I've been through this before but I don't remember anything about Lucy's stump. I even had a bad dream about it last night. I also feel squeamish about touching it/moving it about to clean it and I am not usually bothered about things like this.

Also, Calum 12 days old now, shouldn't the cord be off yet? I don't think I'll relax till it's off. :(

Can't remember when Coops fell off but do remember it being smelly TBH i didn't even clean Coops just the daily top n tail and left it alone. If everyone says its ok then i'm sure it is. It will fall off in its own time     xxx

Aimee's fell off about 13 days. We never saw it come off, just found it in her body suit when changing her. I remember in the last 3 days before it came off it started to smell and looked a bit red. I couldn't change her nappies or give her baths as it freaked me out. I was terrified I'd accidently rip it off. if your midwife and your mum are happy that it is alright, then I don't see it being a problem.
